THE HOUSE ON THE EDGE- A JUMP INTO THE DISTANCEOur house is situated in natural surroundings on very steep terrain 700m above sea level. Our house`s name commonly called "Brdnik" in Slovenian means "projecting hill". We are glad to be able to share this spot with you, which allows you to satisfy your need for time and space. Where every minute becomes the focal point of your stay.
Rest and relaxation, idleness and freedom, combined with one of the nicest views of Carinthia and its alpine world, lets you discover the tardiness and silence anew. In 2006 the former wooden farm building was razed to the ground by a fire. In 2012 we decided to rebuild the same building, with an extension in the form of a transverse and rounded ashlar. For us it was obvious that it would be a timber-frame construction again. The steep, stony slope, on which it is built, lends itself, also inside to the individual level differences. The generous double-glazings and terraces lead the eye straight into the countryside and alpine mountains whose power and energy is felt in the interior. The Kömmel Lofts were built mainly with natural building materials. They are heated with underfloor heating. The wooden floors are made of ash, acacia, stoneware and sisal. The heating is from their own pellets system. Our greatest treasure is the water. The regular tests of the spring certify the best quality mountain spring water. One tastes that too!
